Urban Ore / The absolute last place for things to go before the landfill

In Emeryville CA, there is a wonderful recycled goods store named Urban Ore. What a great name. Everyone brings their stuff here and then shops for others good and treasures. I bought a 1940’s style set of polarized glasses still in the original US Army tin. Also, I picked up an Aurora Borealis pin and an ‘Engrish’ (Engrish is mangled English) Tess Shirt for my daughter that says “Hurry Up The Cake”. Continue

Finished Class

It's July 23rd and I just finished my final for my LPN nursing refesher class. Hard to find nursing jobs in NH it is one of the three states in the USA laying off nurses. A friend from school went on an interveiw and there were over on hundred applicants. O well I still have my painting! Continue

Would you buy from a garage store? Cash deals a problem?

Recently we've seen antique malls close, flea markets disappear, and outdoor shows moving around, and struggling for buyers. Today, was a bit of a surprise. A fine Romance, from Preston Ontario, closed. Store was empty as we drove by today. It's been there for over 4 years now, in a good location. A lesson in salvaging - as a business

We took a drive out of town a few days ago, on way to other business. We were excited, on the way to see a turn of the century home that was being demolished. We alsways look forwards to these, as the supply of items for our business depends on demoished premises and our stock in trade is exactly that. I'm a happy little washtand - MY picture online

New members should take a moment to add a picture to their profile information. Look at right hand side of your screen, select "Settings", and change your profile information there. You can add any picture you like, from your own computer. The picture will be automatically sized down. $ell $tuff quick ! Include a $ sign in your comment on your picture. Try it !

one of the problems with boards like these is they tend to get overflowing with pictures. Only a small part of the pictures might be for sale. A trick I use is to go to the photos page, and in the search box type "$". pictures that have a price included show up in the search, then I can quickly decide which to buy, or at least know what they cost. Try it, you'll see. only a handful of photos show up now.... Same works for… Continue
